Packing and Shipping

Carefully pack your entries in a sturdy box. Line the inside of your carton with a plastic trash bag. Partition and pack each bottle with adequate packaging material. Do not over pack! Write clearly: “Fragile. This Side Up.” on the package. Your package should weigh less than 25 pounds. Please refrain from using “messy” packaging materials such a Styrofoam “peanuts” or pellets; please use packaging material such as bubble wrap.

Enclose your each of your bottle labels in a small zip-top bag before attaching to their respective bottles. This way it makes it possible for the organizer to identify specifically which beer has broken if there is damage during shipment.

Every reasonable effort will be made to contact entrants whose bottles have broken to make arrangements for sending replacement bottles.

It is not against any Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) regulations or federal laws to ship your entries via privately owned shipping company for analytical purposes. However, IT IS ILLEGAL TO SHIP ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES VIA THE U.S. POSTAL SERVICE. Private shipping companies have the right to refuse your shipment if they are informed that the package contains glass and/or alcoholic beverages. Be aware that entries mailed internationally are often required by customs to have proper documentation. These entries might be opened and/or returned to the shipper by customs’ officials at their discretion. It is solely the entrant’s responsibility to follow all applicable laws and regulations.

Best of Show

The Best of Show Winner gets to guest brew his/her winning recipe on AZ Hops and Vines system.

The Best of Show Winner will be invited as a guest to release the winning beer on release night. (Note to brewer naming rights is left to the owners of AZ Hops and Vines). All intellectual property involving winning beer will remain AZ Hops and Vines.

Awards

Winners and medals will be awarded at the Bad Decisions Camp out. You’re not required to camp out but if you do, please visit this site.

We’ve combined two of our craziest events into one completely insane event: The Bad Decisions bacon, chocolate and booze campout and meteor shower. Wine tasting, beer by Four Peaks, food trucks, s’mores, astronomy geekery, camping, and live music. And since it’s an overnight campout, that means no DD required!

Holding to our fine tradition of pairing things that are unhealthily amazing (Cheetos, cupcakes), we are pairing chocolate, bacon, wine, and beer. We’ll also have tons of awesome food trucks. Food is notincluded in the admission price.

The Perseids is one of the best meteor showers to observe, producing up to 60 meteors per hour at their peak. The shower will come from the northeast after about midnight. In the morning, we’ll enjoy muffins and mimosas.

Pricing:

$20 for Bad Decisions (3pm-7pm), includes souvenir glass and ten tasting tickets. Anyone under 21 is FREE. Bacon, treats, chocolate, and all other food is not included.

$50 for the whole shebang- souvenir glass, ten tasting tickets, and campsite. (food not included). Roll in around 10AM to set up your campsite, but the Bad Decisions party will officially kick off at 3pm.

If you’re camping overnight and bringing your kids, then sign them up for Kids Camp for the night- dinner, snacks, crafts, movies and games from 6pm to 10pm, not to mention our own kids’ soda and candy factory, The Sober Shack will be open. Kids Camp is $25 and is open from 6pm to 10pm. Dinner is included with the Kids Camp ticket. If you don’t sign them up for camp, that’s cool too… kids are still free to enjoy the campout!

It will be epic! Don’t miss out!

The 10 Commandments:

1. Don’t be a jerk. (All jerks will be charged an asshole tax of $100.00. We reserve the right to kick you out.)
2. WE WILL CUT YOU OFF IF YOU APPEAR INTOXICATED OR SAY SOMETHING LIKE “IM SO WASTED.”
3. Arizona Hops and Vines is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged property.  Hops and Vines is not liable for any injury, death, or bad decisions. That includes ended relationships, weight gain, hangovers and any awkward encounters.
4. Do not fall into the fountain or let your children fall in the fountain.
5. DO NOT GO INTO THE ANIMAL PEN. THEY BITE. (Scottish people should especially stay away from the sheep.)
6. Parents, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN KIDS, unless they are in the kids camp.
7. All animals should be kept on a leash, and all poop must be put in a bag.
8. Respect the Arizona Hops and Vines property. Pee and poop in the Porta Pottys, NO puking anywhere but into a toilet.
9. No driving through the campsite after 4PM.
10. NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL (Automatically kicked out for that one). NO OPEN FIRES.
